The Samaritan Counseling Center and this Event

Founded in 1987, the Samaritan Counseling Center integrates medical and spiritual resources to help people in Central New Mexico find wholeness and healing. We provide professional psychological counseling, education and outreach programs in English and Spanish to individuals, families and children; including community members with low-to-moderate income.

The Center helps people deal with grief, depression, anxiety, emotional disorders, and marriage and family problems, drawing upon the wisdom of psychology and the power of spirituality. Samaritan is the only nationally accredited faith-based counseling center in New Mexico. A 24-member volunteer community board of directors helps guide the Center's mission.

More than 2,500 years ago the prophet Jeremiah advised the people of Israel to "seek the welfare of the city, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." That wise insight motivates the Samaritan Counseling Center's sponsorship of this New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards program.

The Center's mission is to provide quality, faith-based mental health care to our community. We are convinced that a healthy society that honors integrity and ethical behavior is more likely to foster healthy individuals and families. Healthy citizens, in turn, are more able to contribute to the common good.

This event celebrates accomplishments that make our community a healthier place to live and work. It also supports the Center's work to strengthen individuals and families.
