The Samaritan Counseling Center and this Event

The Samaritan Counseling Center was founded in 1987 and its mission is to help people in New Mexico find wholeness and healing through professional psychological services and education. The Center’s work integrates medical, spiritual and community resources.

The Center helps people deal with grief, depression, anxiety, emotional disorders, and marriage and family problems, drawing upon the wisdom of psychology and the power of spirituality. Samaritan is the only nationally accredited faith-based counseling center in New Mexico. A 24-member volunteer community board of directors helps guide the Center's mission.

St. Joseph Center for Children & Families
Culturally-centered counseling and resources to strengthen families of Albuquerque’s Southeast Heights

Healthy Marriages
Statewide education and support, provided in English and Spanish, to strengthen the relationships of married and committed couples

Guhl Center for Children & Adolescents
Meeting the specialized counseling and therapy needs of children and teenagers

Workplace Services
Employee Assistance Programs and career services for businesses, non-profit organizations and religious communities

Called Back to the Well
Integrating resources to provide support, strengthen church leadership and cultivate healthy congregations

Samaritan Counseling Center’s New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards
Annual program for the selection and recognition of highly ethical businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals

More than 2,500 years ago the prophet Jeremiah advised the people of Israel to "seek the welfare of the city, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." That wise insight motivates the Samaritan Counseling Center's sponsorship of this New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards program.

The Center's mission is to provide quality, faith-based mental health care to our community. We are convinced that a healthy society that honors integrity and ethical behavior is more likely to foster healthy individuals and families. Healthy citizens, in turn, are more able to contribute to the common good.

This event celebrates accomplishments that make our community a healthier place to live and work. It also supports the Center's work to strengthen individuals and families.
